In today's class we worked on 'Cut and Paste: Collage the Digital Way.'
At the beginning of the class we discussed when collage art was first used in the 20th century; Cubist artists were well-known for working in a collage manner, Picasso and Braque. collage today is a very popular style of art as there are many different types of collage.
Pablo Picasso 'Glass and Bottle of Suze' 1912This is one of the works done by Pablo Picasso. The arrangement of the newspaper articles is very random and there appears to be no real sequence or order. This is something that I would like to achieve in my collage works.
Today we worked with Adobe Photoshop to work with images and photos to create our own collages using the different techniques available in Adobe Photoshop. In this lesson I was very productive and created many different collages using the photos I have taken from different beaches all over Melbourne. Though non of the works I did through the lesson are quite finished. They feel a little too structured and I need to work on them further.
