Week Eight Entry

"The Moving Image: Video as Digital Art"

Today we had a good look at some artists who worked with video art in the early stages; some artists were:
  • Nam June Paik ("Magnet TV," 1965)
  • Vito Acconci
  • Bruce Nauman
  • Dennis Oppenheim
In the beginning year of video art, it was typically used for documenting performance art and body art.
Bruce Nauman:
  • he was predominately worked in performance art
  • this was a new way to show your art
Today I worked a lot back on Photoshop, I am focusing more now on 'collage' and creating the idea of "making the landscapes into what you want to see and your own perception!" Next week I am going to work on iMovie and try to create some great footage using the photos I already have and making panoramic views.

Also by next week's tutorial we need to have taken some video footage so that we can work on it in class; we are going to use the program iMovie to edit the footage.

Here are some works that I worked on today in Photoshop; they still need to be developed further.
