Week One Entry

·      Today was the first workshop in, “Introduction into Digital Art.”  From this subject I hope to gain a greater understanding about how to use computers and programs to create digital art. I have very little experience and knowledge about digital art, so this subject will hopefully teach me a lot of new skills and techniques so I have better skills in using computer programs to develop art. This semester we are going to focus on using specific programs, such as; Adobe Illustrator, which is a program that I have never used before. There are also many more programs that will be introduced to me.
·      From looking at the website, http://www.experimenta.org/ I found a great online artwork; “You Were in My Dream is an online interactive artwork that invites you to leap and cavort with some crazy characters in a bizarre ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ animation. Turn on your webcam for some seriously hysterical identity theft!” (http://www.experimenta.org/). This is a great online digital artwork where you can not only watch the digital video but you can also interact with the video. I think that is very creative and interesting to watch, you can also make it more exciting by placing your own face on the person. It’s great, you should check it out! The great artists who created this digital video/display are Isobel Knowles and Van Sowerwine.
